MANILA, Philippines—The PBA has opened the application for the upcoming 2021 Rookie Draft scheduled for March 14, 2021.
As per the league’s official website, both local and Filipino-American players are required to submit their requirements until January 27, 2021.
The rookie application and draft processes were discussed on Thursday when the PBA Board of Governors, under chairman Ricky Vargas, met with Commissioner Willie Marcial.
With the different circumstances, the league decided to forego the PBA D-League stint requirement.
The PBA previously required local players to play at least seven games in the D-League and foreign-based applicants to have played in the same amount of games across two conferences.
Players such as Joshua Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, Santi Santillan, Troy Rike, and Franky Johnson, have already expressed their desire to join the PBA Draft.
