MANILA, Philippines—The NCAA is determined to continue with its 96th season but it awaits approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases on when it can ultimately start.

According to a source, there are no changes on NCAA’s plans despite the UAAP deciding to forego its 83rd season.

The UAAP announced on Friday that it is not pushing through with Season 83, which was pushed back to next year, due to “health and safety” concerns.

“As of now, the NCAA Season 96 is still a go,” said the source Friday.

The NCAA previously said that only basketball, volleyball, swimming and track and field will be played for Season 96 but that could be changed depending on the situation.

“Events to be played may change as well as schedules,” said the source.

Season 96 of the NCAA is planned to start early 2021, but that could still change depending on the IATF-EID’s decision.
