MANILA, Philippines — Things continue to look up for Calvin Abueva.
After making a successful PBA return following a 16-month suspension, Abueva has signed a multi-year extension with Phoenix.
His agent Danny Espiritu posted about the development on Tuesday.
“Congrats Calvin Abueva for another 3 years contract with Phoenix,” Espiritu wrote on Facebook.
The 32-year-old Abueva picked up where he left off, helping the Fuel Masters make the Philippine Cup semifinals.
Abueva was the same old beast inside the PBA bubble as he averaged 13.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.3 steals per outing.
With Abueva’s services secured for the next three years, Phoenix is expected to be serious contenders, especially with the sweet-shooting Matthew Wright also in tow.
