MANILA, Philippines—Professional wrestler Jon Huber, known as Luke Harper and Brodie Lee in the ring, passed away Sunday due to a non-COVID related lung issue. He was 41.
Huber’s wife Amanda posted on Instagram of his husband’s passing, thanking those who’ve supported the late wrestler including the promotion All Elite Wrestling, the current employer of the 6-foot-7 performer.
“My best friend died today,” posted Amanda. “I never wanted to write out those words. My heart is broken. The world saw him as the amazing @brodielee (fka Luke Harper) but he was my best friend, my husband, and the greatest father you would ever meet. No words can express the love I feel or how broken I am right now. He passed surrounded by love ones after a hard fought battle with a non-COVID related lung issue.”
“I’ve been surrounded by so much love and incredible people I can’t tag them all but they know who they are and I don’t think they will ever know how thankful I am for them.”

WWE, Huber’s former company, also posted a tribute message to the man formerly known as Luke Harper and even released a playlist of the performer’s best moments in the promotion.
“WWE is saddened to learn that Jon Huber, known to WWE fans as Luke Harper, passed away today at age 41. WWE extends its condolences to Huber’s family, friends and fans,” posted WWE on its Twitter account.
AEW President Tony Khan was “devastated” to learn of Huber’s passing and asked fans to always think of the former AEW TNT Championship.
“I’m devastated by the loss of Jon Huber, known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee, formerly Luke Harper. Jon was a great man. His family came first, his loving wife Amanda & their sons Brodie + Nolan. He loved wrestling & was great at it, he loved you fans. Please keep him in your hearts.” posted Khan.
WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon also paid respects to Huber, who was a former Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion with her promotion, calling the former Wyatt Family member as a “true family man.”
“I’m so deeply sorry for the loss of Jon Huber. We bonded over the love of our children. He was a true family man. #RIPBrodieLee,” posted McMahon.
