MANILA, Philippines—San-en suffered its most brutal loss with Thirdy Ravena in the lineup after bowing to Akita, 85-53, in the B.League’s elimination round Sunday at CNA Arena.
The NeoPhoenix were still in the game at the end of the first quarter trailing by just three, 22-19, but the Northern Happiness went straight for the jugular in the second quarter.
Akita outscored the NeoPhoenix 20-6 in the second frame to take a 42-25 lead and never looked back.
Ravena finished with five points, four rebounds, five assists, and one steal for San-en.
Stevan Jelovac had 17 points and seven boards to lead the NeoPhoenix, who shot a disastrous 19-of-57 from the field while turning the ball over 20 times.
San-en, which dropped to 5-20 in the Western Conference, also allowed the Northern Happiness to shoot 52% from the field.
Akita improved to 16-9 to get into a three-way tie with Toyama and Brave Thunders at the fourth spot of the Eastern Conference.
