MANILA, Philippines—Following on the footsteps of Benjie Paras is always a tall order, but one coach is confident that Andre Paras is ready to make an impact for any team that drafts him in the PBA.

Mark Herrera, the head coach of the younger Paras AMA in the PBA D-League, said the 6-foot-4 big man can elevate the PBA team that drafts him.

“Andre is ready for the PBA,” said Herrera as per the PBA’s official website. “Andre’s a solid player and any team will be lucky to have him.”

Andre is the older son of Benjie, a two-time league MVP with his first plum coming in his rookie year, and he’s made a name in the developmentals as one of the hardnosed players in the league.

Grit was Andre’s game and he’s shown his willingness to bang underneath to grab boards and be an enforcer for his team that included now PBA players Aaron Black and Kib Montalbo.

“Andre’s a hard-working player and he’s an all-around guy for us,” said Herrera. “He’s ready for the PBA.”
