MANILA, Philippines—Wrestling legend Mick Foley has revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 following a virtual signing.

Foley, who went by “Mankind” in the WWE, announced the news on his official Twitter account Saturday. He said the infection happened in December and he remains in isolation.

“I tested positive for COVID following a December virtual signing, and have been isolating in a hotel room for the past 18 days,” wrote Foley on Twitter. “Please continue to take this seriously. Mask up, social distance, look out for one another.”

Foley cut back on his public appearances this year but he did admit that he took off his mask during the virtual signings to give the fans a better experience.

During his last signing, however, one of the two people assisting him experienced COVID-19 symptoms later that night.

Foley said he waited five days before getting tested, a procedure he’s done at least 12 times, and received the bad news shortly after.

A man fond of Christmas, Foley added that he spent the holidays away from his family but he did keep a positive outlook telling the public to take the virus seriously while telling his audience to cautiously wait for the vaccine.

“Wishing all of you a happy, healthy new year,” wrote Foley.
