MANILA, Philippines—The new year is just three-days-old but Meralco forward Bong Quinto made sure that the start of 2021 would be a memorable one.
Quinto proposed to longtime girlfriend Joyce Pestaño Sunday and got the most important “yes” of his life.
“After eight years and eight months, finally she said yes!” posted Quinto on his social media accounts. “Thank you Joyce for being my answered prayer. I love you so much.”
Quinto joins a list of athletes who proposed during the New Year holidays with Ginebra guard Scottie Thompson getting engaged to longtime girlfriend Pau Fajardo and volleyball stars Jeanette Panaga and Michelle Morente also celebrating the same milestone.
“Thank you to the both sides of our family for helping me plan the proposal,” wrote Quinto.
