MANILA, Philippines — A $100 million offer was made for Khabib Nurmagomedov to figure in a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
As per Ali Abdelaziz, manager of the retired UFC superstar, “everybody was on board” including UFC president Dana White.
“Listen, we got offered $100 million to fight Floyd Mayweather. Dana White was on board, everybody was on board. But, you know, Khabib is an MMA fighter. If Floyd wanted to come to fight [in MMA], get his little ass whooped, no problem,” Abdelaziz told TMZ.
Nurmagomedov (29-0) appears determined to stay retired after stepping away from the sport three months ago following a second-round stoppage of Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in Abu Dhabi.
Mayweather hasn’t been in an official fight since calling it quits after beating former UFC champion Conor McGregor for a 50-0 record.
He then appeared in an exhibition fight against Japanese kickboxing Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018 in Japan and is slated for another exhibition next month against YouTube star Logan Paul.
