Fil-Am Taylor Statham joins PBA Draft
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino-American Taylor Statham has declared for the coming 2021 PBA Draft, joining an already deep pool of talent.
The 6-foot-6 forward announced his intention on his Twitter account with a simple message.
“Declared for the 2021 PBA Draft. All in God’s hands now,” posted Statham.
Statham, 28, already amassed experience both in and outside of the Philippines, most notably his stint in the NBA G League with the then Los Angeles D-Fenders.
Statham was a productive member of Cal State Bernardino in his senior year averaging 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Coyotes in the 2014-15 season.
He’s then moved into professional endeavors in Canada, China, Thailand, and Indonesia wherein he last played for Pacific Caesar Surabaya.
Statham also played in the 3×3 circuit playing internationally with the country’s top player in Joshua Munzon.
Like any other Fil-foreign applicants, Statham has to secure the necessary documents that prove his Filipino citizenship from the Department of Justice and Bureau of Immigration before the January 27 deadline.
