MANILA, Philippines — Stanley Pringle capped off his second title run with a Best Player of the Conference award after leading Barangay Ginebra in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.

The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 18.5 points, on 44.3 percent from the field and 38.3% from three, along with 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and a steal in 22 games for the Gin Kings for the All-Filipino Conference.

Pringle, a two-time champion, beat out TNT teammates Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and RR Pogoy, Phoenix’ Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva, and Terrafirma’s CJ Perez for the conference’s top individual award—the first of his career.

“I always believed that you shouldn’t look at stats and like I said I’ve not been looking at my stats,” said Pringle, who’s also the 2018 scoring champion. “As far as awards go, I believe that your teammates will put you in a position to win.”

“Without them this wouldn’t be possible. They definitely motivate me.”

This was the first time in seven seasons that a player not named June Mar Fajardo won the award after the 6-foot-10 center sat out the year recovering from a leg injury.
