Nicklaus Invitational today at Southwoods

MANILA—High and low handicappers play for the chance to represent the country in the Jack Nicklaus International Invitational when the event’s National Championship tees off today at the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Carmona, Cavite.
Amateur golfers, 21 years and older, regardless of sex and scoring handicap, will compete in the two-person team event for top prizes, including an all-expense paid VIP trip to the United States to play in the international edition slated at Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida.
Confined to players with valid Philippine passports and US visas, the tournament was originally set May 27 but was rained out.
The annual event, held in honor of one of the game’s greatest players and designers, provides the average golfer a chance to play under tournament conditions while enjoying social interplay.
