Alex Eala bows out in quarterfinals of Spain tilt

MANILA, Philippines—Alex Eala’s run has come to a stop after losing to the tournament’s seventh seed Ylena In-Albon in, 6-0, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the W15 Manacor ITF Rafael Nadal Academy World Tennis Tour Friday in Mallorca.

This was Eala’s first loss of the year after she strung up an impressive feat of seven straight wins and her first pro title across the two legs of the Rafael Nadal Academy tournament.

The 15-year-old Eala will try to bounce back in her next tournament in the following week.

Eala is keeping her momentum going after a strong 2020 where she captured Australian Open girls’ doubles tournament championship and a semifinal finish in the French Open singles girls’ competition.
