De los Santos kicks off 2021 campaign with 37th gold

MANILA, Philippines — James De Los Santos is off to a strong start in his 2021 campaign after he claimed gold in the SportData eTournament World Series #1, a competition considered as the most prestigious virtual karate tiff.
The world No. 1 eKATA player collected his 37th gold medal overall when he defeated South Africa’s Silvio Cerone-Biagoni 25.3-24.5 in the final.
“There will be more tournaments ahead, and this is a great motivator to start with,” wrote De Los Santos on his Facebook.
De Los Santos had a sensational bid last year when he soared through the eKATA rankings.
The Filipino karateka, as of posting time, has 18,020.00 total points under his name almost double that of No. 2 Matias Moreno Domont of Switzerland, who has 9,495.00 points.
