MANILA, Philippines—Greg Slaughter is officially back with Ginebra and the 7-foot center is set to rejoin his team once practices start.
Head coach Tim Cone said the once beleaguered center will break his near year-long sabbatical in a few weeks and join the Gin Kings’ practices.
“He’ll return to the team when we resume official practices which is still a couple of weeks away,” said Cone in a message to Inquirer.
Cone was also the one who revealed that Slaughter has signed a new contract with the Gin Kings.
The 23-time champion coach had a Twitter exchange with one Carlos AM Katigbak-Sanchez on Wednesday.
Slaughter was a free agent for much of 2020 after his contract with Ginebra expired and without a new deal, he decided to go to the United States.
The big man since apologized to Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua and the team’s top brass for the misunderstanding.
