NATIONAL champion Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanche Racing and reigning titlist Martin Manalo of RSL Motorsports shared the limelight following separate victories recently in the third and penultimate leg of the 2012 Philippine Drag Racing Championships Southern Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Tiu, seeking his seventh national plum, repulsed Edison Cayco of H3 Autoworks to capture the Quick 8 crown of the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.
Manalo, on the other hand, showed the way in the M&H Pro class, where he eclipsed both Tiu and Cayco.
Tiu had to subdue Jefferson Cruz of Linkage on his first outing and later prevailed over Ace San Agustin of H3 Autoworks to barge into the finals with a time of 11.041 seconds.
