Kyrie Irving wants Kobe Bryant on NBA logo
MANILA, Philippines—Brooklyn superstar Kyrie Irving wants the NBA to change its logo from the silhouette of Jerry West to that of the late great Kobe Bryant.
Irving shared his sentiments in an Instagram post, sharing an image of Bryant dribbling a ball was superimposed on the current NBA logo.
“Got to happen. I don’t care what anyone says,” wrote Irving. “Black kings built this league.”

Irving and Bryant shared a close relationship with each other describing the Hall of Famer as a mentor.
This wasn’t the first time that a petition was created to change the NBA’s logo to Bryant. A change.org campaign was launched in January 2020 after the basketball legend perished in a helicopter crash along with daughter Gianna and seven others.
Bryant, considered as one of the greatest players of all time, won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and was the 2008 MVP.
