MANILA, Philippines — The third window of the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers, which got postponed last month, will likely happen in June, according to Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Sonny Barrios.

“What they’re looking at is June 14 to 20 and right now, that’s the tentative schedule,” Barrios said on Power and Play show. “[Fiba] has not released anything official but that’s what they’re looking at right now.”

The tournament had already been stalled twice after the Philippines and Qatar were both forced to beg off from hosting the qualifiers due to travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fiba, however, gave back the hosting duties to the Philippines with Clark set to host two groups.

Barrios added that Gilas Pilipinas is eyeing to enter the bubble again at Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna from March 15 to April 15.

Another plan is for Gilas to also continue its buildup overseas.
