MANILA, Philippines — Sta. Lucia has also joined the Premier Volleyball League after competing in the Philippine Superliga for several seasons.

The Lady Realtors’ inclusion has pushed the league’s roster to 12 teams with Chery Tiggo also among the league newcomers.

PVL president Ricky Palou confirmed the development on Tuesday.

The addition of Sta. Lucia further intensifies the competition with the Lady Realtors boasting the likes of Mika Reyes, who came on board last year, and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, who was recently recruited by the team.

Reyes, the former La Salle standout, will make her PVL debut while also rekindling her rivalry with ex-Ateneo ace Alyssa Valdez, who spearheads Creamline.

The rest of the league is composed of Bali Pure, BanKo Perlas, Cignal, Choco Mucho, Petro Gazz, PLDT, Unlimited Athletics Club and guest teams Army and Air Force.

The PVL is set to launch its maiden professional season on May 8 inside a bubble at Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna.
