Heruela returns to TNT, signs one-year contract
MANILA, Philippines—Brian Heruela is set for a TNT comeback after signing a one-year deal with the club.
TNT team manager Gabby Cui welcomed Heruela back into the Tropang Giga fold after the stocky point guard played for Phoenix in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup.
“We would like to welcome back Brian Heruela to TNT Tropang GIGA. Brian is a tough, hard-nosed defender and veteran player,” said Cui.
Heruela last played for the Tropang Giga in the 2019 Governors’ Cup, wherein the team had a runner-up finish after losing to San Miguel in the finals.
The 26th overall pick of the 2014 Draft has four titles under his belt, all of which were won with the Beermen, where he reunited with college teammate June Mar Fajardo.
A quality role player, Heruela averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 17 games for the Fuel Masters in the PBA bubble.
