MANILA, Philippines—Alvin Pasaol is officially a part of Meralco after signing a two-year rookie contract Thursday, as his agent Marvin Espiritu confirmed Thursday.
Bolts team manager was present during Pasaol’s contract signing as posted by the team’s official Twitter account.
Pasaol was one of the highly-touted prospects since leaving University of the East in 2019 but the PBA had to wait for the potent scorer as the 6-foot-2 forward opted to play in the 3×3 circuit wherein he became the country’s no.2 player.

A certified offensive talent, Pasaol averaged more than 20 points a game in 2018 with University of the East in the UAAP and even scored 49 points in 2017 in a losing effort against De La Salle.
Though he never made it to the Final 4, Pasaol was selected twice to the league’s Mythical Team selection twice.
Bolts head coach Norman Black said in an interview with the PBA website that he hoped Pasaol would drop all the way down to their pick, no.9, in the draft and that he’s glad his wish came true.
“We are quite happy to welcome Alvin Pasaol into the Meralco Bolts team. We were hoping he might drop to us and it happened,” said Black.
“We have been a very solid basketball team on the defensive end of the court the past few years. Our hope is that Alvin can be a force on the offensive side of the ball and he will give us someone who can create his own shot.”
