MANILA, Philippines — Fiba has announced that the Philippines will host three groups in the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers from June 16 to 20 in Clark.
The third and final window of the qualifiers had already been postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As per Fiba, games of Groups A, B and C will be played in Clark.
“Organized in protected environment tournaments in order to ensure the health and safety of all participants, these games will determine the ten teams that will join Bahrain and Lebanon, already qualified for the event,” Fiba said in a story on its website posted late Friday night.
Gilas Pilipinas is set to play fierce rival South Korea twice and Indonesia in the Clark qualifiers.
The Philippines, which needs only one win to qualify for the Fiba Asia Cup, leads Group A with a 3-0 record.
Meanwhile, Group E and F will be played in Amman, Jordan from June 12 to 14.
