MANILA, Philippines — Listed at 6-foot-2, it’s not hard to imagine that EJ Obiena could’ve excelled in basketball had he pursued a career in the sport.

Add the fact that he also has the athleticism to back up it up.

The country’s best pole vaulter showed off his hops in a video of him dunking a basketball with his head seemingly parallel to the rim.

The Tokyo Olympian has been on a tear early this year winning two golds and a silver so far ahead of this year’s Summer Games.

He set a personal and national-best 5.86 meters in the Orlen Indoor Cup in Poland where he bagged the silver last February.

Obiena, 25, has been training for the Olympics in Italy since December 2019 preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.
