MANILA, Philippines — ARQ Builders Lapu-Lapu forced a do or die for a finals berth after blowing out KCS Computer Specialist-Mandaue, 67-52, in the Visayas leg semis of the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Tuesday at Civic Center in Cebu.
The knockout game is on Wednesday night with the winner facing undefeated MJAS Zenith Talisay City Aquastars on Friday.
Reed Juntilla led ARQ’s offense with 19 points while Dawn Ochea posted a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Lapu-Lapu also held its own on the defensive end, limiting Mandaue to just 23 points in the second half.
“The big difference was everyone responded well. Everybody chipped in in their own little way,” said ARQ assistant coach Jerry Abuyabor. “Even our bench was so positive, talking and encouraging one another.
No KCS player reached in double-digit scoring with Al Francis Tamsi scoring a team-high nine points.
