Vera stakes heavy belt against Bhullar

Brandon Vera, ONE Championship’s heavyweight king, is finally making a return to the promotion’s circle this month.

The Filipino-American mixed martial artist is slated to defend his title against Arjan Bhullar in the main event of ONE’s “Dangal” showpiece at Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 15.

The match was originally scheduled for Manila in May last year, before a continued surge in coronavirus infections and travel restrictions prompted the shelving of the event.

Vera (16-8), will be staking his near five-year reign against Bhullar (10-1), a wrestler with heavy hands whose tours of duty include the UFC and the Olympic Games.

Also a UFC veteran, Vera’s heavyweight fights in ONE never saw him go past the opening round.
