PBA gains IATF OK to hold team practices in GCQ, MGCQ areas

IATF gives go signal for SBP hosting, PBA training resumption

MANILA, Philippines—The PBA has received government clearance that would allow its clubs to practice and hold scrimmages inside provinces under general community quarantine and modified general community quarantine.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque announced the development Friday during a press briefing that was aired live on PTV 4’s Facebook channel.

This came days after PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial met with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in hopes of getting the 2021-22 PBA season get started.

Marcial and his staff already conducted ocular inspections on three Batangas Gyms that could host PBA teams for practices.

The commissioner had said the league is also hoping to start practices by May 16. He is due for a press conference this afternoon to discuss further details after the IATF nod.
