MANILA, Philippines — KCS Computer Specialist-Mandaue City came away as the first league champion, upending MJAS Zenith-Talisay City, 89-75, in Game 3 of the Visayas leg of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Finals Sunday at Civic Center in Alcantara City, Cebu.

Down seven early in the third quarter, KCS turned on the jets and went on an 18-1 run that Shaquille Imperial capped off with a triple giving them a 54-44 lead.

Gileant Delator then caught fire in the fourth scoring eight straight points for KCS’ 81-64 lead before Sorela notched a long three-pointer for Mandaue City’s 88-66 lead.

The Aquastars, who went a perfect 10-0 in the elimination round, failed to get it going and things turned from bad to worse when Darrell Menina got ejected after getting called with a flagrant foul on Delator with 5:17 to play.

“I told them, ‘let’s try to make history. Let’s give them forty minutes of hell!’” said KCS head coach Mike Reyes.

KCS’s win was sweet revenge after it lost twice to MJAS in the elimination round with an average losing margin of 14 points.

Finals MVP Exciminiano led Mandaue City with 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals.

The 32-year-old former PBA player averaged 13 points, 6.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in the three-game Finals.
