MANILA—The Philippine Olympic Committee will name the country’s chief of mission to the Indonesia Southeast Asian Games during a general assembly on June 8 at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong.

POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. said he is still getting the consensus of the executive committee regarding the position left vacant by PSC commissioner Chito Loyzaga.

“We are still deliberating,” said Cojuangco.

Sources within the POC, however, said triathlon boss Tom Carrasco has the inside track to the spot against early favorite Dr. Ernest Jay Adalem of Philippine Handball and Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

Carrasco was the CDM during the 2002 Busan Asian Games, and POC insiders said Adalem may be tapped to head a committee for the London Olympics next year.
