MANILA—Top officials of the PBA will decide immediately whether financially troubled franchise Barako Bull will continue to keep its membership to the pro league.
Commissioner Chito Salud had already warned Barako Bull that unless the team reactivates in time for the opening of the 2011-12 season on Sept. 25, the franchise would lose its membership.
Chair Rene Pardo, however, said the matter was more urgent.
“I don’t think [the board] will wait for the new season [and] will [decide] in June,” Pardo said.
Barako Bull already failed to field a team for the third conference, which opens in Tacloban on June 11.
