MANILA, Philippines—Meralco forward Allein Maliksi made sure to witness the birth of his second child, leaving his team’s training camp in Laoag for good reason.

Maliksi made it to Metro Manila just in time to join his wife Kaye, who gave birth on Thursday.

“Thank you Lord God for keeping my son and my wife safe and protected all throughout. So blessed to have our baby number 2 in our life. My heart is overflowing of happiness and gratitude,” wrote Maliksi on Instagram. “Family is everything.”

Friends and teammates congratulated Maliksi and Kaye on their childbirth including Jayson Castro, Jared Dillinger, Senator Sonny Angara, Danica Sotto-Pingris, and Ryan Araña.

Maliksi was with Meralco for 10 days for their training camp at Laoag Centennial Arena in preparation for the 2021 PBA season.
