MANILA, Philippines — NBA superstar Damian Lillard delivered a timely assist after donating financial aid to the fire-hit Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

Actress Yassi Pressman disclosed on her Instagram that Lillard was among those who provided monetary assistance for the speedy rehabilitation of the largest health facility in the country.

Lillard, who is in the middle of another playoff run with the Portland Trail Blazers, also posted the news about his donation on Instagram story.

“Last Saturday we took the time to visit PGH, the hospital was in dire need of help. Coming to PGH made me deeply appreciate all the nurses, the volunteers, the staff and the mission of the hospital,” Pressman wrote. “80% of the patients that are checked in, are taken care of for free. They perform close to 30,000 surgeries a year charitably. It was really heartbreaking seeing all of the infants, sobrang saludo po ako sa lahat ng mga tumulong.”

“Also, huuuuge thanks to big brother @DamianLillard for sending over such a generous amount, kahit na wala siya sa Pilipinas [even if he’s not in the Philippines], just to be able help,” she added.

One of the PGH’s buildings along Taft Avenue caught fire last May 16. No casualties were reported but the damage to property amounted to P50 million.

Lillard had visited the Philippines twice back in 2014 and 2016.
