NATIONAL team members as well as upcoming badminton players will dispute titles in singles, doubles and four other events in the kickoff leg of the MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) starting May 19 at the Metro Sports Center in Cebu.
There will also be competitions in mixed doubles, Open, Under-19 and Under-15 categories in the five-day event, the first of three tournaments lined up by the Philippine Badminton Association, headed by Vice President Jejomar Binay, chair Manny V. Pangilinan and secretary general Rep. Albee Benitez.
Registration ends today at 5 p.m. at the PBaRS office at 20 E. Maclang cor. P. Guevarra Sts., San Juan. Fee is P400 for the first entry and an additional P150 per player for the other events.
The event, sponsored by Goal Pilipinas, holds its second leg on Oct. 27 to 31 in Manila while Cagayan de Oro will host the final stage on Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
