Sangalang hits winner, Magnolia beats Alaska
MANILA, Philippines — Magnolia took its second straight win thanks to Ian Sangalang’s buzzer-beater at the expense of Alaska, 84-82, in the PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Rafi Reavis stole the ball from Yousef Taha with 20 seconds left allowing the Hotshots to call one final timeout that drew up Paul Lee feeding Sangalang underneath for the game-winning layup.

The Hotshots tied Rain or Shine and Meralco atop the standings at 2-0 while the Aces dropped to 1-1.
Robbie Herndon gave Alaska an 82-80 lead with 1:09 remaining before Sangalang tied it up at 82-all with 57 seconds to play.
Article continues after this advertisementSangalang had 26 points, five rebounds, and two blocks to power the Hotshots while Lee added 16 points.
Calvin Abueva finished with a near double-double of nine points and 10 rebounds to add to Magnolia’s cause.
Yousef Taha finished with a career-high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds to lead Alaska.
