Carlos Yulo makes vault final in Tokyo Olympics after floor exercise exit
MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo secured a spot in the Artistic Gymnastics men’s vault final of the Tokyo Olympics at Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Japan.
Yulo remained in the running for a medal in Tokyo after he placed sixth in vault with a score of 14.712 in the qualification on Saturday.

The 21-year-old Yulo, however, failed to make the floor exercise final where he is considered a top gold bet after ruling the same event in the world championships in 2019.
Article continues after this advertisementYulo was visibly upset after tallying just 13.566 in his favorite event where he managed to end his routine strong following a shaky start.
The men’s vault final is on August 2.
