GAMES TODAY (Filoil Flying V Arena)
2 p.m.—FEU vs Perpetual
4 p.m.—Adamson vs Letran
6 p.m.—San Sebastian vs UST
SHAKEY’S V-League rivals University of Santo Tomas and San Sebastian clash for top spot in Group B today even as Adamson guns for a quarterfinal berth in Season 9 First Conference at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Holding 3-0 records, the Tigresses, who own a record six titles, and the Lady Stags meet in the 6 p.m. match, after the Lady Falcons tangle with the winless Letran Lady Knights.
Jockeying for solo second in Group A, Far Eastern U and Perpetual square off in the first game at 2 p.m.
A victory against the Lady Knights will ensure the Lady Falcons of passage into the quarterfinal round.
Letran has lost all of its three matches so far, but the Lady Falcons aren’t expected to let up after they nearly paid for playing too loose in the third and fourth sets of the narrow victory against University of St. La Salle last Tuesday.
UST and San Sebastian have figured in many epic duels, including five title series, and with their current forms in the tournament, their latest showdown isn’t expected to be an exception.
The Lady Stags have continued to draw superb efforts from Thai Jeng Bualee, who will be pitted against an equally talented Utaiwan Kaensing, the Tigresses reinforcement.
Bualee is showing a renewed spring in her step, coming up with a 31-point output in the four-set win over USLS.
San Sebastian coach Clint Malazo is satisfied with Bualee’s play although he acknowledged that the support for the Thai spiker will be the most important factor against UST.
