MANILA, Philippines—Filipijo bet Cris Nievarez clocked in at 7:26.05 and finished fifth in the Semifinals C/D of the men’s single sculls in the rowing competition of the Tokyo Olympics at Sea Forest Waterway Thursday.

The Filipino bet, who bowed out of medal contention after his loss in the quarterfinals, will now compete in Finals D– the classification for the 19th to 24th places.

Peru’s Alvaro Torres Masias led Semifinals C/D with a time of 7:02.49 while Monaco’s Quentin Antognelli finished second at 7:06.03 and Bermuda’s Dara Alizadeh taking the third spot with a time of 7:11.14.

Finals C will be for the 13th to 18th classification.

Mohammed Al Khafaji of Iraq placed fourth with a time of 7:21.52 while Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Hussein Alireza finished sixth clocking in at 7:53.99 with the two joining Nievarez in Finals D.

Finals D will be on Friday at 7:35 am (Manila time).
