MANILA, Philippines—Kristina Knott failed in her bid for a place in the podium after finishing outside the top 3 of Heat 7 in the women’s 200-meter of the Tokyo Olympics Monday at the Olympic Stadium.

The Filipino sprinter registered a time of 23.80 seconds for the fifth spot in her heat.

Only the top 3 of each heat and the three fastest runners beyond those who placed at the top of each qualifying run would advance to the semifinals.

The United States’ Jenna Prandini topped Heat 7 with a time of 22.56 seconds with Gambia’s Gina Bass coming in at second clocking in at 22.74 seconds while Australia’s Riley Day was the third fastest at 22.94 seconds.
