Choco Mucho a win away from PVL finals, beats Chery Tiggo

MANILA, Philippines — Choco Mucho cruised past Chery Tiggo, 25-18, 25-22, 25-21, Sunday night to move one win away from entering the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference finals at PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

The Flying Titans had three players scoring in double digits led by Kat Tolentino’s 11 points while Ponggay Gaston and Bea de Leon added 10 points each.

“I will not say that we [dominated]. We just played right and I guess we also caught our opponent off guard,” said Choco Mucho head coach Oliver Almadro.

Deanna Wong was also key in the victory with 16 excellent sets on top of four points. Maddie Madayag chipped in nine, highlighted by three blocks.

“We have to keep on doing what is right. I commend my players because they had the discipline today with what they’re doing,” Almadro said.

“I’m not saying this is a dominant win because the series is not over. We just won a game and we will come back again tomorrow.”
