MANILA, Philippines—Petro Gazz secured the bronze medal after stopping Choco Mucho, 25-20, 25-18, 25-21, in Game 2 of the battle for third of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Thursday.

Myla Pablo poured in 16 points to lead the Angels past the depleted Flying Titans team that didn’t have the injured Maddie Madayag, who got hurt in Game 1 of the series.

Denden Lazaro, Kat Tolentino and Bea De Leon also sat out the bronze medal match after playing seven matches in eight days.

“All of our sacrifices were worth it, every struggle that the team went through in the bubble training paid off,” said Angelss head coach Arnold Laniog in Filipino. “We were here for one month and it was a very different experience. It will challenge you mentally.”

Although Pablo was the only player from Petro Gazz to finish in double digits, all of her teammates, with the exception of Ivy Perez, scored at elast one.

Grethcel Soltones finished with seven points for the Angels while Seth Rodriguez added six.

Caitlyn Viray had nine points while Necole Ebuen added seven for the Flying Titans.
