NU improves to 7-0, clobbers Lyceum at Filoil Preseason Cup

MANILA, Philippines – National University toyed with Lyceum of the Philippines, 82-52, to sustain its dominance in the 2012 Filoil Flying V Pre-Season Hanes Cup at the Arena in San Juan.

The Bulldogs, still undefeated in seven games, turned the game into a demolition job in the third quarter – leading by as huge as 30 points.

Cameroonian reinforcement Emmanuel Mbe pounded the on the Pirates with 16 points and 12 rebounds while Mark De Guzman provided the game long spark with 15 points.

The Bulldogs remain the top squad in group B, head and shoulders above the rest with JRU in far second with a 3-1 card.

Cris Cayabab scored a game-high 16 points along with nine rebounds, but could do nothing to stop the bleeding for the Pirates in the third quarter.

Lyceum skidded to its fifth loss with just a win in the tournament and sink at the bottom of group B.
