Manila Chooks hopes to bounce back in Fiba 3×3 Montreal Masters

MANILA, Philippines—Manila Chooks TM left for Canada Wednesday ahead of its campaign in the 2021 Fiba 3×3 Montreal Masters.

The team, composed of Mark Yee, Mac Tallo, Zachary Huang, Dennis Santos and alternate player Chico Lanete, will have a two-hour layover in Tokyo before heading to Vancouver where the delegation hops on another plane for Montreal.

Manila Chooks is in Pool D with world No. 8 Antwerp of Belgium and No. 10 Edmonton of Canada.

“Gustong-gusto naming bumawi kasi nabitin kami noong Doha Masters (We’re determined to bounce back because we fell short in the Doha Masters),” said Lanete.

“Every win and every point counts for us to get enough points in the Olympics.”

The top two teams in Pool D will advance to the crossover playoffs on Monday and will face either world No. 4 UB of Serbia, Switzerland’s Lausanne, or home team Old Montreal.
