MANILA, Philippines—Fil-Japanese karateka Junna Tsukii claimed the gold medal in the women’s kumite -50kg in the Karate 1 Premier League Sunday in Cairo, Egypt.
Tsukii beat hometown bet Areeg Rashed, 2-1, in the final.
It marked the second time that Tsukii won the top prize in the competition.
The 29-year-old also won the gold five months ago in the Portugal leg of the prestigious tournament.
“We won the Premier League Tournament! Thank you for all your support,” Tsukii said in a social media post Sunday.
