MANILA, Philippines–Jules Samonte’s days with the Ateneo Lady Eagles have come to an end.
In a post on Instagram, Samonte said she was grateful for the years spent with Ateneo in the UAAP where she was named Rookie of the Year in Season 79 and won a championship in Season 81.
“Seeing all the posts about the UAAP has got me feeling nostalgic. Words cannot even describe how thankful and blessed I am to have been able to play the game I love for the blue and white,” Samonte wrote.
“I am immensely grateful to The Ateneo for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream and of course thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam. On to the next.”
The 22-year-old Samonte, however, did not say anything about her volleyball future.
The UAAP canceled its 83rd season, after scrapping the remainder of the season before, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Samonte also played for Ateneo’s UAAP beach volleyball team.
