“First team. Last team. So grateful for everything in between. Today, I am officially retiring from the game of basketball. Thank you to everyone who was a part of my journey and career,” posted Redick.
“I started playing basketball 30 years ago in my backyard on an uneven patch of dirt, gravel, and grass. It was on that court that my dreams began to form. Reality has far surpassed my dreams! So thankful for 15 years in the NBA and all the amazing relationships and memories along the way.”
Redick finished his career at the 15th spot of the NBA’s all-time three-point field goals leader with 1,950 made threes.
A prolific shooter for the Blue Devils, which made him a two-time ACC Player of the Year, Redick was selected 11th overall in the 2006 Draft and he would spend the first seven years of his NBA career with the Orlando Magic.
Redick then had stints with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, before retiring with the Mavericks.
