MANILA, Philippines—Manny Pacquiao had changed promoters, managers, and even trainers during his storied boxing career but there has been one constant by his side through it all–his wife Jinkee.

As boxing’s only eight-division World champion walks away from the sport, Jinkee reminisced about how worried she would get whenever the 5-foot-6 Pacquiao would face bigger opponents.

Despite her fears, Jinkee said that her husband would always find a way to calm her down and reassure her that nothing wrong will happen.

“After watching your Goodbye Boxing video, naalala ko gaano ako nag aalala on each and every one of your fights, especially kapag malaki at matangkad ang nakakalaban mo,” wrote Jinkee on Instagram.

(After watching your Goodbye Boxing video, I remember how I would get worried during each and every one of your fights, especially when your opponent is taller and bigger than you.)

“But you were always full of faith and faced your opponents with courage.”

Pacquiao, the only man to reign as World champion for four separate decades, announced his retirement from boxing on Wednesday leaving behind an indomitable career that saw victories against Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Shane Mosley.

The legendary southpaw also had an interesting rivalry with Floyd Mayweather Jr. that culminated in their 2015 mega fight.

“I thank the Lord everyday that He kept you safe. Thank You for the success. We are filled with gratitude and love, Jesus,” wrote Jinkee, who married Pacquiao in 1999. “Babe, we are always and forever here by your side. I love you.”
