San-en, Thirdy Ravena fall anew to Hiroshima in B.League

MANILA, Philippines—Hiroshima doused a late run by San-En to win, 84-72, and maintain its seat atop the West Conference standings of the 2021-22 Japan B.League season Sunday at Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall.

The Dragonflies used a 17-2 run across the last two quarters to build a 70-55 lead midway through the fourth but the NeoPhoenix got to within five, 73-68, off a 13-3 counter that Elias Harris punctuated with two dunks at the 2:58 mark.

Hiroshima shot back with a quick 8-0 run to take an 81-68 lead after Terashima Ryo’s converted two from the free throw line with 1:44 to play.

Tsuji Naoto finished with a game-high 28 points, on 5-of-9 shooting from deep to lead the Dragonflies who improved to a 5-1 record which include a 76-67 victory over the NeoPhoenix on Saturday.

Terashima added 18 points, six assists, and three steals while Charles Jackson had 14 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and one block.

Ravena finished with 12 points, on 5-of-14 shooting, and two steals while Harris led the NeoPhoenix’ offense with 19 points with six rebounds.

The NeoPhoenix, losers of two in a row, fell to a 2-4 card.
