Creamline teams undefeated so far in BVR on Tour

MANILA, Philippines—Creamline 1’s Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons showed their class as they swept the first day of competition in the first leg of the Beach Volleyball Republic on Tour in Sta. Ana, Cagayan Friday.

Rondina and Pons first dispatched TM’s Mer Jauculan and Hannah Cabansay, 21-10, 21-11, in the opener before turning their attention to Sta. Lucia’s Jackie Estoquia and DM Demontaño, 21-8, 21-13, to lead Pool B with a 2-0 record.

Creamline 2’s Dij Rodriguez and Dzi Gervacio also went 2-0 in Pool C as they took down PLDT’s Ella and Iza Viray, 21-16, 21-14, and Delimondo’s MJ Ebro and Bianca Lizares, 21-14, 21-10.

The Rondina-Pons and Gervacio-Rodriguez are using the Sta. Ana tournament as part of their build-up for the Asian Seniors Beach Volleyball Championship on November 23 in Phuket, Thailand.

Biogenic Alcohol’s Heather Guino-o and Roma Joy Doromal joined Creamline 2 atop Pool C with 2-0 records after their victories over PLDT, 22-20, 21-17, and Black Mamba Army 2’s Jem Gutierrez and Audrey Paran, 21-11, 21-11.

Estoquia and Demontaño are at 1-1 in Pool B after securing a win over Black Mamba Army 1’s Nene Bautista and Jeannie Delos Reyes, 21-19, 21-15, in their opener.

Cabunsay and Jauculan tied Sta. Lucia at 1-1 after their 21-12, 21-14 win over Army 1.

In Pool A, Eastern Perlas Spikers’ Jules Samonte and Mich Morente topped Toyota-Tuguegarao’s Nicole Tiamzon and Jho Maraguinot, 21-19, 21-12, to chalk up their first win, while Good Health CDO’s Babylove Barbon and Gen Eslapor also had a winning start with a 21-13, 21-17 tripping Sta. Lucia 2’s Bang Pineda and Glaudine Troncoso.
