MANILA, Philippines — Dwight Ramos’ winless run in the Japan B.league has finally come to an end after nine games.
Ramos showed the way as Toyama notched its first win at the expense of Osaka Evessa, 82-67, at Toyama City Gymnasium Wednesday night.
The Gilas Pilipinas standout fired a game-high 20 points, including nine first quarter points.
The Grouses closed out Osaka with a blistering 17-2 blast in the final six minutes of the game to pull away from a 65-deadlock.
Toyama got off to a strong start behind Ramos’ hot shooting but blew an early 12-point lead after Osaka dominated the second quarter.
The two squads went back-and-forth in the second half up until the six-minute mark of the fourth quarter where Toyama regained its form.
