Kiefer Ravena, Shiga advance in Emperor’s Cup

MANILA, Philippines—Shiga and Kiefer Ravena moved on to the next round of the Emperor’s Cup stopping B2 club Fukoka, 91-82, Sunday at Arena Tachikawa Tachihi in Tokyo.

Ravena was on his playmaking self finishing with 12 points, two rebounds, nine assists, and one steal for the Lakestars.

Sean Omara took care of the bulk of Shiga’s offense with 29 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks while Novar Gadson and Daichi Nomoto had 14 points apiece.

Tanno Aiki and Daisei Shirato both had 18 points to lead the Rising Zephyr.

Niigata and Kobe Paras didn’t have the same fate as they failed to advance to the next round losing to Hiroshima, 105-102, at Kishiwada City Gymnasium in Osaka.

The Albirex BB had three players score at least 20 points, including Paras, but their production wasn’t enough against the Dragonflies.

Rosco Allen had 28 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals to lead Niigata while Kimitake Sato also had 28 points with Paras pitching in 21 points.

Charles Jackson led Hiroshima with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals while four of his teammates finished in double digits including Thomas Kennedy who had 17 points.
