V. League: Espejo, FC Tokyo finally get first win after beating Bagunas, Oita Miyoshi

MANILA, Philippines—Marck Espejo and FC Tokyo finally broke its woeful skid beating Bryan Bagunas and Oita Miyoshi, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22, for its first win of the season in the Japan V.League Friday at Showa Denko Martial Arts Sports Center in Oita.

In the first meeting of the two Filipino imports this season, Espejo and FC Tokyo put a stop to their six-game losing streak for a 1-6 record while Bagunas and the Weisse Adler dropped to their sixth straight loss against one win.

Jonas Kvalen had 12 pints to lead FC Tokyo while Hideyuki Kuriyama and Espejo, who was playing against his former team, both had 11 points.

Kenta Koga led Oita Miyoshi with 14 points while Kota Yamada had added 11 points.

Bagunas was limited to two points in the Weisse Adler’s defeat.

FC Tokyo and Oita Miyoshi, which are now tied at the eighth seed in the standings, will play once more tomorrow at 2 pm.
